Tilted Fuzz Records was born from a simple belief: every community deserves great live music, and every local musician deserves a real shot at being heard.
Founded by Evan Beran and Sarah Magee, Tilted Fuzz Records brings together more than 20 years of combined experience in music and sound production. Evan, a musician of two decades, has spent his career behind the mic and behind the board, learning firsthand what it takes to make a performance — and a recording — truly connect with an audience. Sarah brings that same passion for music and production to the table as co-founder, helping shape the vision of what Tilted Fuzz Records could become.
Beyond the studio, Evan and Sarah are songwriters and performers in their own right. Evan writes, plays guitar, and sings, while Sarah writes, plays drums, and sings simultaneously — a rare skill that speaks to the depth of musicianship behind Tilted Fuzz Records. Their firsthand experience as working musicians shapes every part of how they support the artists they work with.
We started this company because we wanted more for our community — more live music, more stages, more opportunities for local musicians to showcase their talent. What began as a shared love of sound and performance grew into a mission: build a studio and live production company that gives local artists the tools, the platform, and the support to put their music out into the world.
Today, Tilted Fuzz Records works to do exactly that — through sound production, music festivals, and a genuine commitment to the artists who make our local music scene worth showing up for. We’re not just producing sound; we’re building a home for musicians to be heard.
For the past two years, that commitment has come to life every month at our open mic night. What makes our open mic different is simple: we provide all the sound equipment and instruments, so anyone can get up and play — regardless of skill level or experience. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or someone who has never performed live or played with a band before, our open mic gives you the chance to step on stage, plug in, and experience what it feels like to be a musician in front of an audience. It’s a welcoming, low-pressure environment built for learning, growing, and connecting with other artists in the community.

Evan Beran has been immersed in music for over 20 years, and that lifelong dedication is the foundation of everything Tilted Fuzz Records does. As founder and lead sound engineer, Evan combines technical expertise with a musician’s ear, ensuring every project — from a single track to a full festival stage — sounds exactly the way the artist intended.
Evan’s approach to sound production is rooted in collaboration. Having spent two decades as a working musician, he understands the creative process from the inside out, and he brings that perspective to every session, mix, and live show he engineers. His goal is simple: give musicians the highest-quality product possible, so their music can reach the audience it deserves.
Alongside co-founder Sarah Magee, Evan built Tilted Fuzz Records to be more than a studio — it’s a resource for the local music community, dedicated to helping artists sound their best and get their music heard.
Meet Our Co-Founder
Sarah Magee co-founded Tilted Fuzz Records out of a shared belief that local musicians deserve real support and a real stage. As co-founder, Sarah helps drive the vision behind the company’s studio work, live production, and community events, bringing the same passion for music that first brought her and Evan together to build something for their community.
A songwriter and performer herself, Sarah plays drums and sings original music which reflects her hands-on relationship with sound. That perspective as a working musician informs how she approaches every artist Tilted Fuzz Records works with — with empathy, encouragement, and a genuine understanding of what it takes to get on stage.
Together with Evan, Sarah co-hosts the company’s monthly open mic night, helping create a welcoming space where musicians of every skill level — from first-timers to seasoned performers — can plug in and play.
